Fertility Treatments

IVF
In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)
was originally developed to assist conception in women with blocked or damaged fallopian tubes. It is now used to treat other causes of infertility such as endometriosis.

ICSI
Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
later evolved to achieve conception where semen samples display specific problems such as low count, poor motility (movement) or when surgically retrieved sperm are used.

OI-IUI
Ovulation Induction with Intra Uterine Insemination
is a treatment used when women have unexplained infertility or have problems with ovulation. This is achieved using a combination of drugs to stimulate the ovaries.

Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET)
There may be some embryos remaining after an IVF or ICSI treatment cycle. If they are of a suitable quality, they may be frozen. An embryo can then be thawed and transferred to the patient. FETs can be done on a natural or constructed cycle.

Egg Sharing
This is a service which has been developed to offer a practical solution by bringing together a woman requiring IVF treatment and willing to donate some of her eggs, with another woman unable to produce her own eggs or has had premature menopause.

Egg Donation
IVF and ICSI treatments
can be provided to women using donated eggs. Most treatments are with known egg donors although there are occasionally opportunities for treatments involving anonymous altruistic donors.

Donor Treatments
Treatment using donor sperm is available at Hope Fertility. Local donors are recruited and fully screened. It is also possible to import approved donor sperm from abroad if necessary.
